For those of you who are familiar with marketing online, you should know that it is essential to have the necessary knowledge and skill set in order for you to be able to generate the best results from a particular medium.

If you want to be able to effectively make use of Facebook for marketing purposes, then you need to know exactly what to do so that you will be able to generate the best results for your efforts.

In this article, I am going to show you 5 easy tips which you can use so that you can effectively reach out to your target audiences, and market to them via Facebook.

1. Profile Picture

You will want this picture to be consistent with all the other pictures you have used on the other websites that you have – This is so that people will be able to recognize that the person in the profile picture is you (and not somebody else).

Especially if you want to brand yourself, it is important that you use the same picture throughout (your websites and all your other avatar and profile pictures).

However, if it is a particular company that you want to brand, then the profile picture should be an official company logo. That way, people will be able to, at one look, recognize the company (especially if it is one that is well-known offline).

2. Websites In Profile

Depending on the access level you set (where people who are not connected with you can see your profile), the websites that you list in your profile are one of the first things that anyone will see when they first search for you.

This is the best place for you to showcase all the websites that you have. You will want to make sure that the websites you list in your profile are related to what you want your prospects to perceive you as.

One thing you also want to make sure is that, your websites look professional. As some people will look at your websites first before deciding whether or not to connect with you (via Facebook), if your website is shabby-looking, chances are, they will not want to connect with you (would you want to connect with a business with a shabby website? Of course not!)

3. Bio

Besides links to websites that you have, the next thing that people can see (again depending on the access level that you set) is your bio.

What you want to do is to write briefly what you are doing – Do not write long stories (people have no time to read through every single word in your bio). You should summarize and highlight only the most important points of your work.

You need to put in some time here to write an interesting bio, as having an interesting one will definitely get people to want to connect with you (and you being able to increase your fan base, and every single post you post will get more eyeballs).

4. Posts

Make sure that the posts that you have are not entirely promotional. People hate to be sold to all the time, and as such, you must make sure that you do not sell to the people who are connected with you all the time.

Rather, what you should do is to have a mix of informational and personal posts, with promotional posts.

What this means that, you should also have posts where you share with people some tips, advices, and information about the niche that you are in.

Also, you will want to share with people some personal happenings in your life from time to time – Such as telling people what are you working on now. By doing so will add some “live” and “spice” to your posts (instead of just simply boring posts regarding the niche you are in).

5. Be Active

As Facebook is a social networking platform, you need to actively participate in it (if you want to get maximum results for your marketing efforts). Do not just simply post updates.

Rather, you should get out there and start commenting on peoples’ posts – By commenting, I do not mean that you should go around spamming peoples’ post with useless comments, but you should write constructive ones.

It would even be better if you can help others with problems they are facing (especially those problems in the niche you are in that they are facing).

Many people have the misconception that a Facebook page and a Facebook group are the same. The fact is, they are not.

Whether or not you should setup a Facebook page or a Facebook group will depend on what is your goal of setting one up.

What I am going to do in this article is to share with you, by explaining in detail, what each of them are, and thereafter I will be revealing some key differences between the two.

Facebook Page

A Facebook page is one that, as described by Facebook (and I quote) “a voice to any public figure or organization to join the conversation with Facebook users… a public profile that lets users connect to what they care about”.

They are most commonly used by companies, organizations (both profit and non-profit), celebrities, film, etc. to reach out to the world. They are also used by individuals whose personal Facebook account has exceeded the 5,000 friend limit (yes, you are limited to having only 5,000 friends in your personal Facebook account).

A Facebook page was previously known as a Facebook fan page when it first started. However, as it gained popularity, Facebook eventually decided to change the name of such pages to just simply a Facebook page.

As an administrator of these pages, you have the rights to customize the tabs, add in basic information, as well as perform tasks such as controlling how you want people who join the page to post onto the wall, upload photos and videos, as well as other security controls.

From a business perspective, these pages are good for both online and offline businesses to reach out, connect and interact with prospective customers.

Facebook Group

Unlike a Facebook page, where everyone is free to join (by simply on a single button), for a Facebook group, depending on the access level, it is by invitation only (meaning the administrator of the group has to send you an invitation before you can join. Otherwise, it is invisible to you).

A Facebook group is best used if you want to create a network and interact with a few select people (and you do not want whatever that is being communicated to be seen by the public).

From a business point-of-view, individual departments may wish to create their own Facebook group with members consisting of staffs in the particular departments only – Where they can use it to hold discussions (both formal as well as informal).

4 Key Differences Between A Facebook Page & Facebook Group

The following are 4 key differences between the 2 of them:

A page is visible to the public (where people can search from it using Facebook’s search function), but not a group (if it is set to being invisible).

A Facebook page works just like a personal Facebook profile where, the search engine “spiders” will be able to index it (and one will be able to find it in the search engines), but not a Facebook group.

Anyone can become a member of a page by clicking on a single button, and you can immediately participate in it. However, for a group, depending on the access level set by the administrator, you may need to wait till you are approved before you can gain access to it, and participate.

You can mass email all members in a group, but you cannot do so with a page (that is, you can mass mail members in a page).

A group is limited to 5,000 members, while there are no restrictions on the number of members allowed for a page.

Before I begin, I would like to let you know that there is a difference between building an email list and building a responsive email list.

Building an email list is relatively easy – All you need to do is to offer an attractive “bait” (it could be a short report, a short audio, or video where you share a tip or two in the niche you are in) in your opt-in page (or sometimes also known as a landing page) that entices your prospects to want to sign up (filing up his/her first name and email address) immediately. After they have signed up, you will then send them the “bait” via email. This is what building up an email list is about in a nutshell.

However, building a responsive email list requires much more effort (than simply getting your prospects to opt-in). In this article, I am going to share with you 5 essential tips that will help you build a responsive email list.

Equipped with these 5 tips, you will be able to get your subscribers to respond to any email you send (and that includes taking action to click on the links within the emails and purchase any products/services you recommend)

1. Follow Up Immediately After Someone Opts-In

Remember, the main reason why someone decide to enter his/her first name and email address to sign up is because of the “bait” which you have offered in your opt-in page.

Therefore, you need to make sure that, as soon as your prospect opts in (and confirms his/her subscription), you send him/her an email immediately with the link to download the “bait” which you have promised in your opt-in page.

2. Send Emails To Your Subscribers On A Regular Basis

By saying this, I don’t mean you should spam your subscribers’ inbox with many emails in a single day – In general, what I would recommend is that you send him/her an email every 3 to 4 days.

Avoid sending your subscribers more than 1 email in a single day unless it is absolutely necessary (such as there is something extremely important that you need to let them know immediately).

3. Mix Of Informational & Promotional Emails

People do not like to be sold to all the time (so please do not do it). What you should do is to send a mix of informational and promotional emails.

In case you are wondering what kind of informational emails you should send out – You can send them “how-to” emails (where you show them how to perform certain tasks), tips (where you share with them a tip or two you have just discovered on how to simplify a task), or providing answers to some burning questions in the niche.

As for promotional emails, they are emails you send out where you promote a product/service (that you own or you are promoting as an affiliate).

Now comes the question on the ratio of the number of informational (and promotional) emails that you should send out – I would recommend that you send out 1 to 2 promotional emails with every 3 to 4 informational emails you send out.

4. Encourage Response/Communication

The following are some of the things you can do to evoke a response from your subscribers:

i. Conducting A Survey – You can conduct a short, simple survey to find out what your subscribers want (and you cater the content of your emails that you send out to them in future based on the response you receive)

ii. Asking An Open-Ended Question – You could bring up a hot topic for discussion where you share your opinions briefly (in 2 to 3 short paragraphs) and thereafter, ask them for their opinions.

iii. Offer Assistance – You can send out emails from time-to-time asking your subscribers if there are any burning questions that they want to have answered. Make sure that, when you receive their questions, you answer them (and do it promptly, preferably within 24 to 48 hours).

5. Tone Of Message

Keep the tone of your message casual – You can write your email messages in a “speak as you write” manner, where you convert what you want to say into words (in exactly the way you want to say it).

It is proven that these types of email messages are more well-received compared to those that are written in a formal manner.

There is something I would like all email marketers (especially if you are a newbie) to take note here – And that is the CAN-SPAM act that governs the use of emails for marketing purposes.

I am not going to talk about the legal-side of things (such as the punishments that business owners or marketers will be meted with) in this article. Rather, I am going to tell you 4 essential elements that every single which you send out to your subscribers must have.

You need to make sure that each and every email message you send out have the following 4 elements, so as to avoid getting into trouble with the law.

1. Use A Valid Email Address

Make sure that the email address that you have stated in the “From”, as well as in the “Reply To” field is a valid email address (and not some address which people cannot reach).

2. Unsubscribe Link

You must make sure that you include a unsubscribe link in every single email message you send out to your subscribers.

On top of that, you must also state down clearly how they can opt out of your mailing list. This information (along with the unsubscribe link) is usually inserted at the bottom of every email message.

And one more thing – You need to make sure that, after someone has unsubscribed to your list, you must not send him/her any emails again in future.

3. Location

It is mandatory that you state down the location in which you are conducting your business in every single email you sent out. This information is usually found at the bottom.

You need to state down the full address – Including the house number, street name, unit number (if applicable), zip code and finally, the country where you are conducting your business in.

This address can be your company address or home address.

4. No Deceptive Subject Lines

What this means is that, your email body must be what it is (as stated in the subject line).

For example, you should not write in your subject line “Notice Of Payment Received” when you are not sending any sort of payment to your subscribers. This kind of subject line is very misleading and should be avoided at all cost.

Always bear the above 4 elements in mind and make sure that all emails that you send out is sent using a valid email address, and that it has a unsubscribe link, along with the location (and full address) in which you conduct your business, as well as making sure that what you have in the email subject line is consistent with what you have in the email message – All these will ensure that you avoid any unnecessary legal trouble.

The reason is because, these top-notched email marketers write their email in such a way that compels their subscribers to want take the action (to click on the link within the email, scroll down to the buy button and make a product purchase).

In this article, I am going to share with you 4 killer email writing tips that you allow you to write highly compelling emails that you get you the results (as long as you apply these tips when composing your email).

1. Attention Grabbing Subject Line

First and foremost, if you want your email to be opened, it must first be outstanding, such that your email is among one of the first things your subscribers will see when he/she checks his/her inbox for new messages.

The reason is because, people now receive way too many email messages every single day that it is almost impossible to go through each and every single one. Hence, they only open those that they are interested in (and normally they only open those with subject lines that manage to capture our attention).

Therefore, it is absolutely vital that the email messages that you send have a compelling headline – Giving your subscribers every reason to want to open the email right now!

2. Keep It Short & Simple (KISS)

You must always bear in mind of the fact that your recipients are busy people and as such, they do not have too much time to spend on reading each and every word in every email they receive. Therefore, you should make sure that you keep your emails as short and as simple as possible.

As a general guideline, you should keep your email to no more than 3 to 4 paragraphs long, and each paragraph should consist of no more than 3 to 4 sentences.

On top of that, you may also want to avoid long sentences – Try to keep each sentence to within 10 to 12 words.

3. Fully Make Use Of P.Ses

These P.Ses usually appear after you have signed off – And it’s purpose is to remind your readers one or two important points in the entire email.

The power of these P.Ses should not be overlooked. Do you know that, most people do not read through the entire email message? Rather, they only look at the email subject title, and they skim through the email body, and then the P.Ses?

Now that you know the power of PS.es, you need to fully make use of them. You can use it to highlight one most vital part of what the entire email is about (if you are promoting a product/service, you will want to highlight 1 ultimate benefit of the product/service)

4. Strong Call To Action

People need to be told what to do. If you want them to click on a link, or buy a product, tell them to so! Failure to do so will result in your subscribers not taking any action (and hence you will not be able to experience the kind of results that top-notched email marketers are getting).

Not only that, you also need to give them enough reasons why they must take action immediately (instead of hours later, or even days later).

If you are promoting a product/service, you can make use of the “scarcity factor” to get them to click on the link in your email to buy the product right now – Such as telling them that the product owner is going to increase the product in less than 24-hours time, or that product bonuses are about to be snapped up (and if they do not buy soon, they risk missing out on the wonderful bonuses), etc. – You get the idea here.

Give them a compelling reason why they should take action now, and you can be sure that they will do exactly what you tell them to.

Writing emails to your subscribers isn’t as intimidating as it seems. It is actually very easy to write emails that convert. All you need to do is to take note of certain things when you are composing it.

In this article, I am going to share with you 4 pointers that you need to take note of whenever you are writing emails to your subscribers. Simply by taking note of these 5 factors will help you write emails that not only gets read, but also one that will get your subscribers to take the action you want them to take!

1. Spelling & Punctuation Errors

What would you do if you see an email in your inbox, open it up and try to read it, only to find that it is full of spelling and punctuation errors? What will you do with it?

If it is me, I will probably click on the “Thrash” button. I am sure that is what you will do as well.

Spelling and punctuation errors are not tolerated, especially with spell checkers so readily available these days (most Word processor programs should have it). What you should do, after you have composed your email (that you intend to send out to your subscribers), is to run a spell check on the entire email which you have drafted, and check through it yourself to make sure there are no spelling or punctuation errors, before you send out.

2. Attention Grabbing Subject Line

Your email subject line is one of the first things your subscriber sees in their inbox, along with all other emails.

With more and more emails being received, coupled with the fact that we are now living in a fast paced society, we do not have the luxury to sit down and go through each and every single email in our inbox.

Most of the time, we will look at what seems interesting (and we can determine whether or not the email is interesting enough to want to click on and read more by looking at the email subject line) and thrash the rest.

So, if you want your email to be one of those that is being opened and read (instead of being sent to the thrash bin), it is extremely important that the email messages that you have drafted have an attention grabbing headline (the types of headlines that will invoke interest are – asking them a burning hot question, invoking curiosity, stating a cold hard truth, etc.)

3. Write Casually

Most of the people whom you will be sending emails to are working people, and most often, they check their emails when they get home from work in the evening.

After a long, hard day of work, and feeling tired from all the work stress, the last thing they want to read is a formal email.

Therefore, you should write casually – Write to your subscribers as if you are writing to a friend. One way is to use a “write as you speak” tone – That will definitely make sure that your email is casual.

4. Proofreading

It is important that you proofread the entire email at least twice before you hit on the send button to send it out.

What you can do here is to read out the entire email out loud (face the mirror as you are reading the email if you are shy) to make sure it sounds right.

You may also want to get another person (it can be your spouse, your friends or your family members) to read through the email that you have just composed, and make sure that he/she understands what you are trying to say in the email. If they don’t, then chances are your subscribers will not be able to understand as well.

As such, you will need to re-write your email.

One of the most basic questions that is being commonly asked about as far as email writing is concerned is the types of emails that you can write to your subscribers.

There are essential 4 different types of emails you can write (and send) to your subscribers, and they are – Informational email, promotional email, freebies email, and finally, personal emails.

In the next few sections, I am going to go deeper into explaining to you what each types of email is all about, along with the kinds of contents you should have in each of these types of emails.

1. Informational Emails

This is the first type of email – where you need to provide your subscribers some value (in giving them some information that they would like to receive). These information can be in a form of:

i. Tips – You can share with them a tip or two that you just discovered (either from a book, from a blog post, from a video, etc.)

ii. How-To Information – You can share with them a brief, step-by-step information on how to perform certain tasks. If there are many steps involved, what you should do is, simply highlight the steps involved in your email, followed by a link to your website, where they can discover all the steps involved.

iii. New Blog Post – You have just added a new article in your blog/website and would like to let your subscribers know about it. What you can do is that, you can send them an email to give them a brief summary about what this new article (which you have just uploaded) is about, along with a link to your blog/website where they can read it in detail.

2. Promotional Emails

These are emails that you send out to promote a product/service (that you own or you are promoting as an affiliate).

One thing you should not do is to hard-sell to your subscribers. Because by doing so will only get them feel irritated and unsubscribe to your list (and you have lost your subscriber for good).

What you should do instead, is to give a brief overview of the product/service, highlight some benefits (by telling them the problems the product/service can help solve, and how will your subscribers be able to benefit from it), along some pros and cons of it.

You should not overwhelm your subscribers with too many promotional emails, as by doing so will only lead to them eventually unsubscribe from their list. What you should do is to only promote products/services to them occasionally – Such as one or twice every month.

3. Freebies

Surprise your subscribers once in a while by giving them something for free (without the need for them to opt-in, and confirm their email address once again).

You can include the direct link for them to download the freebie in the email itself.

These freebies can come in a form of a ebook (you can write a 10 – 15 page short report where you share with them some tips, or “how-to” on a particular topic in the niche that you are in), short 10 to 15 minute audio, or video (or both).

By giving away something for free once in a while (such as once every 2 to 3 months), your customers will appreciate it, and all the more they will want to remain signed up to your list (as they know they will be able to get some extra and special occasionally).

4. Personal Emails

Once in a while, you may want to tell them a little bit about your life – Such as what you have been up to recently (or what kinds of projects are you working on currently).

You can also extent your hand to your subscribers by offering to help them out (in any questions in which they have).

This adds an element of personal touch, which will help enhance the relationship between you and your subscribers.

After you have created an autoresponder account, as well as your opt-in page (also known as landing page), the next thing you need to do is to write email messages that you intend to send to your subscribers from the moment they opt-in.

I notice that many newbie email marketers are having problems with this step, and as such, I have decided to write this article to help you along – By providing ideas on what you can write (and send) to your subscribers when they first opt into your mailing list.

What you will discover in this article are ideas that will allow you to write your first 10 email messages that you can send to your newly signed up subscribers.

Message #1

You need to send out this email the moment he/she confirms his/her subscription.

This email will contain the download link to the freebie you have promised in the opt-in page.

Message #2

Send this email a day after he/she has opted in, where you can follow-up with them to find out whether or not they have received your previous email to download the freebie (which you have offered in the opt in page).

The reason why you want to send this email out is because, there may be occasions where, after your subscriber just opt-in, he may miss out the email message that contains the download link to the freebie.

Message #3

Generally, you would want to send out a third email to your subscriber 3 to 4 days after the second email.

In this email, you can tell your subscriber a little bit more about yourself – Such as the number of years of experience (along with your experience-level) in the niche that you are in, along with what they can be expecting to hear from you about, as well as how you can help them (in the various topics related to the niche that you are in).

This email helps to build rapport between you and your subscribers – In that, with this email, your subscribers will now know who you are, what you do, and how you can help them. You can be sure that they will be approaching you whenever they need help in the niche that you are in.

When the time comes, be sure you help them out wholeheartedly. Help them with their problems once, and you will have them subscribed to you for life.

Message #4

If you want your emails to get read, you need to give your subscribers what they want. So, how to find out what they want? Simple – Ask them explicitly.

You will want to send out this email 3 to 4 days after the third email asking them what areas (of the niche you are in) they would be interested to find out more about.

With that information at hand, you will be able to compose your email messages with content that they want to know. What that, you can be sure that, they will definitely open and read all emails you send to them (because the information you are going to give them are what they want to know about)

Message #5

Surprise your subscribers in this email with another freebie – Your subscribers will love you for it.

This freebie can come in a form of an ebook, short audio or video – Where you share with them some tips in the niche that you are in.

Again, you will want to send out this email 3 to 4 days after the previous one.

Message #6

Send this email the day after the previous one, where you check with them if they received your previous email with the link to download the surprise freebie.

You will want to once again include the link to download the freebie.

Message #7

I will send out the seventh email approximately 5 days after the previous one, as I have just sent my subscriber a freebie (that is loaded with information). Give them some time to read through and digest it.

In this email, you want to start off by asking them for their opinions on the freebie that you have given out in the fifth and sixth email, and ask if they have any questions.

Next, you will want to talk about one hot problem in the niche that you are in, that most people will encounter, and provide them with the best solution to go about solving it.

Message #8

By now, your subscribers should more or less be familiar with you, and trust that you are someone whom they can approach if they need any help in the niche (that you are in).

Based on the information that you have collected all these while about your subscribers (and problems that they face), you will want to, in this email, recommend a product/service that will help solve the problems that they have.

Remember, do not hard-sell to them. Rather, you will want to highlight 3 to 5 benefits about the product/service, along with a link to find out more.

Finally, as to when you should send out this email, I would recommend that you send out this email 3 to 4 days after you have sent out the previous one.

Email #9

I will send this email 3 to 4 days after the last email, and in this email I will talk a little bit about the product/service I recommended in the previous one.

This time, I will highlight to them my personal experience with the product, along with the pros and cons of it.

I will also, once again, include a link for them to check out the product/service in this email.

Email #10

Finally, I will ask them for any questions that they have so far (in the niche that you are in) 3 to 4 days after I have sent out the previous email.

Offer your most sincere help to help them out. You can be sure that, questions will start coming in from this point on, and you need to diligently answer them within the shortest time possible.

The fastest way to gain someone’s trust is to help them solve their problems. Once you manage to do so, you can be sure that they will remain subscribed to you for the rest of their life. On top of that, they will also trust all your product/service recommendations and want to purchase them – Bringing about profits for you.

I am sure many email marketers encounter the problem where, you get a poor email open rate (it is a percentage of people who open up your email), a low click through rate (percentage of readers clicking on links in your email), and a high amount of unsubscribe rate – Leaving you feeling frustrated and wondering what exactly you have done wrong.

There are, in fact, many reasons why your email marketing efforts is not getting the results that you desire.

In this article, I am going to share with you 5 of the most common mistakes that most email marketers make when writing their emails. And you should avoid making those mistakes at all cost.

1. Dull / Uninteresting Email Subject Line

The subject line of your email is the very first thing your subscribers will come into contact with every time you send them an email. Whether or not your email gets opened (or sent to the thrash bin) will very much depend on how enticing the subject line is.

Therefore, it is extremely important that you take the effort to write an enticing email subject line – One that have the capability of standing out (from the rest of the emails that are in your subscribers inbox), have them notice and want to click on it to read it.

Having a dull, or uninteresting subject line will result in your email being sent to the thrash – And all your efforts to draft your email message comes to nothing.

2. Long Message Without Paragraphing

You have to understand and respect the fact that people are getting more and more busy with every single day. And they do not have the time to spend long periods of time reading a single email.

As such, you should keep your email messages short (preferably within 5 paragraphs, with each paragraph having 2 to 3 short sentences), where you mention only the most important points that you want your subscribers to know about.

By having long email messages with no paragraphing will only result in your readers thrashing it without reading.

3. Too Sales Hype-y

Think about it – If someone calls you on the phone one day and try to persistently sell you something, how will you feel? Will you feel irritated and frustrated?

This is exactly how your subscribers will feel if your email messages are too sales hype-y.

Not only that, they will not hesitate to scroll down to the bottom of the email and click on that “Unsubscribe” link and you have lost that subscriber for life. Or worst, they click on the “Report As Spam” button and report you as a spammer.

4. Full Of Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation Errors

It is a turn off reading an email message that is full of spelling, grammar and punctuation errors. People receiving email messages like these will likely not finish reading it before tossing it to the thrash bin.

Therefore, it is very important that, before you send out any email messages, make sure that you thoroughly check through the entire email message for such errors.

5. No Call To Action

People like to be told what to do. If you want them to click on the link in your email, make sure you tell them explicitly to click on the link. Otherwise, they will not do so.

I have seen many people making the mistake of not telling their subscribers what to do – By doing so you will leave your subscribers wondering what they should do next (after reading your email) and when that happens, what they will most likely do is to close the email message and move on to the next.

And as such, you will not be able to get the desired results you want for your email marketing efforts – Whether is it to get your subscribers to visit your website (where you can get repeated traffic) or get them to purchase a product/service you just recommended (where you get paid for every single sale you generate).

Do you know that, many people (myself included) determine which emails we should open (and read) and which emails to thrash simply by looking at the subject headline?

As much as we want to open and read each and every single email that we receive (in our inbox), we just can’t afford the time to do so. Therefore, we can only pick and read only those that we find interesting.

So, what does this mean to you, as an email marketer? This implies that, regardless of how interesting or useful your email is, as long as your subject line is not enticing enough, it will not get opened (and all your effort will go down to waste, unfortunately).

Therefore, to ensure that your emails get opened (and read), you need to make sure that the subject line of your email is eye-catchy and enticing enough to the effect that it will grab your subscribers by their eye-balls and drop everything that they are currently doing and open up your email.

In this article, you will discover 4 types of email subject lines that will skyrocket your email’s open rate (meaning the percentage that a particular email you sent out gets opened by your subscribers).

1. Stating A Fact

You can state a fact in your email subject line (and later going into more details about it in the email message).

The fact can either be a positive or negative one. However, it has been proven that negative facts tend to evoke more curiosity – And people want to find out more about it (by opening up your email and read more about it), compared to positive ones.

2. Asking A Question

Asking a question in your email’s subject line – Especially if the question you are asking is something that your subscribers will answer yes to, then chances are your email will get opened (as they want to find out answers to the question).

Usually, asking them a question (that you know that without a solution to will result in them feeling pain, anxiety, or stress) in the subject line gets a high open-rate.

An example would be “Are You Having [the problem here]?”

3. Build Curiosity

If you are able to build up curiosity in your email’s subject headline, it will also help increase the chances of your subscribers opening up your email.

Let me give you an example – Let’s say you are in the weight loss market, and you have just uncovered the truth behind the myths of weight loss and would like to share with your subscribers about it, having a headline such as “3 Shocking Facts About Weight Loss You Need To Know…” will definitely get people, especially those who are dying to lose weight, want to open your email and read what you have for them.

4. Warning!

It is human nature that people want to avoid hurt and pain. If, in your email subject line, you highlight a major hurt or pain they will risk going through if they do not read what you have to say in your email, chances are, they will open it.

One good example of how you can write such as email subject line would be “Warning: Stay Away From [what you want them to stay away from here]” – This type of headline will definitely catch your subscribers’ attention and get them to read your email.
