How To “Steal” Traffic To Your Websites Legally

In order for your websites to be able to get the maximum results that you desire (whether is it getting the sales, or getting people to opt into your list), you need to generate traffic to it. And the thing is that, you need not just ordinary traffic, but targeted traffic (it is totally useless to get people whose interest is in badminton to visit your tennis website).

I am sure that, prior to reading this post, you already have known of many traffic generation strategies elsewhere (either in paid courses or in other articles, or blog posts), so I am not going to talk about them today.

Rather, what I am going to share with you today is a simple strategy (which consists of 4 simple steps) that you can use to legally “steal” traffic to your websites – And I am going to talk more about it in the next few sections.

Step #01 – Visit Yahoo Answers

I am going to teach you how you can tap onto traffic from Yahoo Answers to your website. In case you are wondering why Yahoo Answers, the answer is very simple, thousands of people visit this site every single day to ask all sorts of questions – from Business & Finance to Health & Fitness to Home & Garden, to Education & Reference, and the list goes on (there’s something for everybody).

You can participate in Yahoo Answers as long as you have a Yahoo account (and you can sign up for free if you do not have one).

Step #02 – Look For Questions

What you need to do next is to look for questions that is related to the niche that you are in by first clicking on the “Browse Open Questions” button under the “Answer” column (see screenshot below, where I have highlighted this in a “yellow” rectangular box), and from there, you can look for questions that is related to the niche which your website is based on.

Step #03 – Write A Post/Article To Answer The Question

After you have decided on the question which you like to answer, the next step would be to write a blog post/article dedicated to answering the question with as much detail as you can.

Step #04 – Summarize Post/Article And Posting In Yahoo Answers

Next, you need to summarize the entire post/article that you have written in a few simple sentences (leaving the details out). And after you have done so, you will need to post this summary as your answer to the question and at the bottom of your answer, you can include a link to your website (in particular, a direct link to the detailed post you have written) which he/she can visit for more details on the answer pertaining to the question he/she has asked.

Now, in order for this strategy to work well (and drive massive targeted traffic to your website), you need to work on it consistently.

I would recommend that you answer 3 to 5 questions every single day, and keep working on it consistently over the next month or two… I can be sure that you will start seeing traffic coming into your site from Yahoo Answers (especially from people who have the exact same question as someone who has already asked this question before, sees your solution, and click on your website’s link to read more about it).

How To Attract Repeat Visitors To Your Website

When it comes to generating traffic to your website, the best type of traffic you can generate is repeated traffic – Meaning the same visitors who visited your website before visits it again and again (because of the fact that the information you’ve provided is informative and they’re back for more)

Anyone who has a website and is reading this post knows that it is easy to get people to visit your website for the first time, but it can be quite difficult to get them to visit it again. What I’m going to do in the next few sections is to share with you 4 proven strategies that will help you attract repeat visitors to your website.

1. Update Your Website Regularly

This is the number #1 thing you need to do if you want to attract visitors to visit your website on a regular basis – You simply need to update your website regularly with unique content.

As a guideline, you need to update your website with new content approximately 2 to 3 times in a single week.

Another thing to note is this – While the need for unique content is important, the need for having current, up-to-date content is even more important. You do not wish to update your visitors with information that is already outdated.

2. Allow Easy Bookmarking

One simple trick you can do is to add links within your website that will allow them to bookmark your website within one single mouse click.

You can add a link called “Bookmark This Site” in the top-fold, making it visible to them – By doing so, it will increase the likelihood for them to click on your link to bookmark your website.

There are free JavaScripts available for you to copy-and-paste that will allow your visitors to bookmark your website simply by clicking on a link. You may want to conduct a search in the Google search engine for the code.

Otherwise, you may want to have options at the bottom of every post that will allow your visitors to add your website to the various social bookmarking sites.

3. Add Opt-In Pages

You may also want to consider adding an “opt-in” section within your website where your visitors can enter their first name and email address, so that you can send them email notifications whenever you have updated your site with fresh contents.

In order to get more people to opt-in, you may want to offer a free gift in exchange for their personal information, instead of just asking them to enter their personal information. It is proven that people are more inclined to want to opt-in when you offer them something in return for their efforts.

The free gift that you can offer can be a short report pertaining to the niche topic of your blog, or a short audio/video which you can record that discusses more about the niche topic of your blog.

4. Encourage Communication

If possible, at the end of every article that you post onto your website, you have something that fosters communication (between fellow website visitors, or between yourself and your website visitors).

You can either ask them for their comments/suggestions or ask a simple question (make sure you participate in the discussion as well, and do not leave all the discussions to your websites’ visitors).

If your visitors engage in a discussion within your website, you can be sure that they will return again to check out for any replies that was posted in response to theirs.

Free Traffic Generation Methods

One of the main reasons why many marketers did not manage to make a single sale online is because they are not driving enough traffic to their websites.

Traffic generation is one of the most important aspects as far as making money online is concerned. The reason is this – You can have a fantastic website with a fantastic offer, but if no one knows about it, your website is non-existent, and there’s no way you can generate any sales.

There are 2 types of traffic generation types available – paid as well as free. Both work equally well in my personal opinion. In this post, I’m going to share with you 5 free traffic generation methods that work very well for me (and I’m sure it will work very well for you too).

1. Social Bookmarking

There are many social bookmarking sites available on the Internet (the most popular ones being Digg, Propeller, Del.icio.us) where you can submit your website to (and by doing so, you can possibly allow your website to reach out to a wide community of people around the world). If the content in your website is interesting enough, you will have a surge of visitors visiting your website to read your content.

This is the reason why it is extremely important to conduct a thorough research to find out what your prospective visitors are interested in, before you actually start writing the contents for your website.

2. Article Writing

Many people think that they need to be as good as an English professor to write articles on the Internet. This is not true.

As long as you know how to write in simple English, you will be able to write articles on the Internet. And besides, there’s no need for you to write very long articles – All you need is to write articles about 200 to 300 words long, and you can do it in within 10 to 15 minutes if you are writing something that you have a good knowledge about.

Once you have written the articles, you need to submit them to the various article directories. Some of the top article directories that I recommend you submit your articles to are Ezine Articles, Go Articles, and Articles Base.

How you can drive traffic to your website with articles is through the author’s bio in each article that you submit. So, as long as your article is interesting and informative enough, people will definitely click on the link that you have in the author’s bio to check out your website (because they want to read more articles written by you).

3. Social Networking

There are many social networking websites you can join (such as FaceBook, MySpace and Twitter) where you can meet up with like-minded people from all over the world.

Let’s say, you have a website about dog training – You can look for dog lovers in these social networking websites, connect with them and get to know which areas about dog training they are interested and need more information in. With this understanding, you can then provide the requested information in your website base on your knowledge of the specific topic.

As long as you are not a persistent salesman (where you try time and again to promote products and services to them), and show them that you are sincere in sharing information, you can be sure that they will visit your website regularly – And that’s free traffic for you.

4. Forums

How you can get traffic from forums is that you must first participate in it. If you are new to the forum, start off by responding to forum posts created by others. Try to help out fellow forum members with problems that they are currently facing.

As long as your forum posts are beneficial to the fellow forum members, they are going to regard you as an “expert” in that area, and will want to check out your websites to learn more from you (you can include a link to your website in the forum signature, which will appear at the bottom of every forum post you submit), as well as your product recommendations.

5. Web 2.0

So there you have it. I’ve just shared with you 5 free traffic generation methods that work. I’ve been using these 5 methods myself and they worked great in helping me drive massive, targeted traffic to my websites, and I’m perfectly sure these 5 methods will work for you as well.

If you are just starting off, what I can advise is that you pick and choose 1 traffic generation method that you feel most comfortable with and start working on it until you see some traffic coming into your website before moving on to the next traffic generation method.
