Affiliate Marketing Mistakes

Affiliate Marketing is, I must say, one of the easiest way for anyone to generate money on the Internet – Due to the fact that you do not need to have any computer or business knowledge, you do not need to purchase any domain name or website, and best of all, you do not need to have your own products and/or services to start making your first dollar on the Internet.

The opportunities that is available to you as an affiliate marketer is enormous, and there are no limits as to how much you can earn every single month on the Internet as an affiliate marketer. Having said that, there are still lots of people who fail to make a single cent from it, and give it up totally.

Why is it that there are people who go on and generate 4, 5 or even 6-figure income online, while there are some who fail to make a single cent online?

I must say there are 5 reasons for this, and in this post, I’m going to share with you top 5 affiliate marketing mistakes made by newbie affiliate marketers…

Harboring Too Much On Hopes Of Getting Rich Overnight1. Harboring Too Much On Hopes Of Getting Rich Overnight
While it is possible for you to get rich from affiliate marketing (generating a 5, or even 6-figure income in a single month), I want to let you know that as a newbie, it’s not going to happen for you.

Marketers who generate such income figures every single month have many years of experience in affiliate marketing, and they have established their web presence, and also developed a huge following online in the niche that they are in. And these followers practically buy anything that was being recommended (and that explains why these marketers are able to generate a 4 or 5-figure income overnight)

What you should do instead if you are a complete newbie is to start aiming to make your first dollar online. Once you’ve made that very first sale, then aim to make your first one thousand dollar online, and thereafter aim to make your first ten thousand dollars online, so on and so forth.

Failure To Conduct Proper Marketing Research2. Failure To Conduct Proper Marketing Research
Heard of the saying “Don’t try to sell ice to Eskimos“?

What I’m trying to say here is that most newbie affiliate marketers fall into the trap of promoting just about anything they see on the Internet without conducting a proper marketing research to find out whether or not the products and/or services have ready-buyers.

The reason is this – In order for you to make money online with affiliate marketing, someone has to buy something via your affiliate link. If you are promoting something that has no demand, there’s no way you can make any money on the Internet – It’s as simple as that.

Thus, it is very important to do a thorough market research to find out if what you are going to promote is in demand prior to promoting it.

Not Investing In Education3. Not Investing In Education

If you want to succeed in the affiliate marketing business, it’s inevitable that you need to invest some money in education to equip yourself with the proper and correct knowledge to get started.

You can learn either by reading guide books (there are tons of it on the Internet, just go to ClickBank’s Marketplace and you’ll find many ebooks on how to get started with affiliate marketing) or attend live coaching seminars.

Information Overload4. Information Overload

By asking you to invest in education, I don’t mean getting every single book or attending every live coaching seminars you see – This will only result in you suffering from what I call “information overload”, because your mind is filled up with more information than you can digest and you do not know what to do next.

Thus, what I would suggest is that you start off by either attending one live coaching seminar, or getting one step-by-step affiliate marketing guide and follow what you’ve learned very closely. Most of the times, it should be sufficient in helping you make your first dollar online.

5. Trying To Re-Invent The Wheel

Another reason why many newbie affiliate marketers fail to make any money from affiliate marketing despite investing a huge sum of money on affiliate marketing guides and attending live seminars is because they fail to follow exactly what they have been taught. They try to do things their own way and end up incurring heavy monetary losses as a result.

Are you guilty of any of the 5 affiliate marketing mistakes above? Don’t be afraid to own up – Because it’s only by making mistakes that we learn and become better.

Now that you know your mistakes, it’s time to rectify it and make sure you don’t make the same mistakes again… With that, I would like to wish you all the best in your affiliate marketing journey. :)
